Our Members
Lake Trust has invested in new ways to help the financial wellbeing of its members.

Lake Trust Legacy
We launched a new product, Lake Trust Legacy, in partnership with Legal Karma. This online estate planning tool makes it possible for people to easily create a will or trust from home.

Hello, Monroe
After considering member feedback, we opened a new relationship center in Monroe at 1237 Holiday Blvd. And expanded our impact in a new Michigan community.

Green Lending
Our new green lending home equity loan solution offers a 0.5% APR rate discount on qualified energy-efficient projects.¹ It’s good for the planet. And members’ budgets.

Through our ongoing home loan giveback program, our members made it possible to donate $23,000 to a housing nonprofit in Michigan.
Small Business
Lake Trust empowers small businesses by providing opportunities for growth, education, and funding resources.

Destination Stars Hollow
As the title sponsor of this immersive event in Downtown Brighton, we helped draw 55,000 visitors and supported local entrepreneurs prepare with small business microloans.

Entrepreneurship Program
Our new online business program, Lake Trust Entrepreneurship Institute at Cleary University, launched to area entrepreneurs for free. The inaugural cohort of the program included 50 participating entrepreneurs.

Mixer Media by Lake Trust
Lake Trust acquired a majority position in Mixer Media, a Brighton-based video and photo production company. Media and production services are now available for Lake Trust business members.

Last year, we helped entrepreneurs fill the gap in business expenses by providing 189 small business microloans for a total of over $3 million in funding.
Community
Lake Trust advocates for the wellbeing of its members, communities, and credit unions.

Money Matters For Youth
Money Matters for Youth is a nonprofit in Detroit that provides financial literacy education. The Lake Trust Foundation donated $7,500 to help students visit Washington, D.C.

Habitat For Humanity
Leaders from Lake Trust participated in the keynote address at Habitat for Humanity of Michigan Affiliates in Motion (AIM) Conference and revealed green lending initiatives built to support the work at the nonprofit.

Advocacy Work
Representatives from Lake Trust served on the Advocacy Committee at America’s Credit Unions to educate consumers about the importance of supporting a federal tax exemption for credit unions.
Through the work of our nonprofit, we enhanced our commitment to multiply positive impact in communities across Michigan.
Over $2 million
Cumulative value of scholarships awarded since 2012 to support the educational ambitions of individuals in Michigan.

Amount raised through Lake Trust Credit Union Foundation Raffle ticket sales. Funds will help further the Foundation’s work in enhancing community wellbeing.
3,600 meals
Number of fresh, healthy meals provided to individuals in need through Meals For Michigan in 2025. This ongoing campaign will continue to support our neighbors.

Lake Trust supports the overall wellbeing of its team members.

Mental Health Benefit
We launched a new employee benefit by partnering with Spring Health. And our people leaders attended a full-day course to learn how to identify mental health needs and find resources for their teams.

Team Member Savings
Team members who contributed to a Team Member Savings account and built their emergency fund were eligible to receive a match from Lake Trust up to $250.
National Recognition
Lake Trust was recognized on Forbes 2025 list of America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions. Honorees were named based on independent survey results and a sentiment analysis of publicly available reviews.

1The Green Lending Rate Discount offers a 0.50% interest rate reduction on closed-end home equity loans used for qualifying energy-efficient home improvement projects. To qualify, the total cost of the project must represent at least 50% of the loan amount and include both materials and installation. All work must be completed by a Michigan-licensed and insured contractor. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to: energy audits, solar panels, battery storage, energy-efficient windows and doors, HVAC systems or heat pumps, insulation upgrades, energy-efficient roofing, EV charging stations, and energy-efficient water heaters. This offer cannot be combined with other rate discounts or promotions and is subject to credit approval and standard underwriting guidelines.
