Colton’s Story

Good neighbor. Great plumber.

Meet Colton. He is a personal and business banking member from Hastings who owns Hometown Plumbing Services, a full-service plumbing company with a unique community-focused mission. Every month, Hometown Plumbing provides a “Good Neighbor Service” for people who can’t afford essential plumbing services. As he lives out his dream of owning a business, Colton believes he has an obligation to give back and multiply positive impact through his work.
Colton found his calling for providing professional plumbing services at 20 years old. After working in Grand Rapids for 10 years, he saw an opportunity to move back home to Hastings and serve the community. That’s when he started Hometown Plumbing Services — a local business founded with the intention of staying local. Staying purposeful. And becoming impactful. Hastings has the sense of community that Colton values in his personal life, and it was the perfect place to start chasing his dream of owning a business.

I enjoy being able to work in Hastings and build something in the town where I grew up.

The power of possibilities.

The power of possibilities.

Hometown Plumbing prides itself on a business model that looks beyond providing a service. To Colton, a successful job is about more than a happy customer. Every job offers the possibility of a new outlook, a greater peace of mind, and a more functional community. This spirit is what drives Hometown Plumbing’s Good Neighbor Service. On the first day of every month, Colton and his team provide free, essential plumbing services. Recipients of the Good Neighbor Service might be unable to afford necessary repairs or too proud to reach out, but Colton doesn’t ask questions. The only guarantee is a job done right.

Lake Trust empowers me to be a better provider for my family and for my community. I can live out my vision.

Hometown pride. Hometown power.

Hometown pride. Hometown power.

Colton opened his first account with Lake Trust at 18 years old, and he is now a personal banking member and business banking member. He takes pride in being a member at an organization that understands the power of conversation and kindness. Plus, it helps that Lake Trust has been a fixture in Hastings since Colton can remember — and he values a financial partner with a local foundation. That’s why he secured a Lake Trust auto loan for a new work vehicle that better advertises his business and makes it easier to deliver services throughout the Hastings area. He appreciates that his Lake Trust team is always ready to have a conversation and go the extra mile, both for business needs and personal milestones like a home loan for
his family.

Colton’s hopes for a more functional community start at home. When he isn’t empowering the city of Hastings with Hometown Plumbing, Colton is spending time with his wife and children. He is living out his vision of owning a business that makes a difference. And the community of Hastings is grateful he saw it through.
